What it does

Measures the solid bodies you select and writes their material sizes into an Excel bill of materials. Each body is measured along its own flat faces and straight edges, and falls back to X, Y and Z when it has none.

Where to find it in NX

In the Modeling application: the Material Size button on the selection bar. Open the part, press it, and select the bodies.

Good to know

  • Needs Microsoft Excel installed on the PC. It opens Excel to build the sheet.
  • The sheet is saved as the part name followed by _MATERIAL_SIZE.xlsx.
  • The sheet has places for customer name, mould name, grade and prepared by.
