NX Backup and Restore

Save your NX settings to one encrypted file and restore them later.

What it does

Saves everything NX keeps for your Windows account — toolbars, roles, dialog settings, preferences and favourites — into one file, compressed and locked with a password you choose. Restore puts it all back.

Where to find it in NX

Runs from NEXORA itself, not inside NX. On the Install Tools page, press BACK UP to choose which NX versions to save, or RESTORE to pick a backup file.

Good to know

  • The backup works on another PC, another Windows user, or a fresh Windows install.
  • Restoring keeps your current settings alongside, renamed ending in .before-restore, so a restore can be undone.
  • The password cannot be recovered. Without it the backup cannot be opened.
  • Free, and needs no licence: your own NX settings are yours whether you have paid or not.
